The entrepreneurial spirit of the Vuletić family remains as strong as ever, and Zlatnik is beginning a new chapter in its history. After several decades of successful work in hospitality and hotel management, its knowledge, experience and facilities have been given a new purpose — caring for adults and older people.
The idea grew from a simple belief: later life should be lived with dignity, and as people grow older, security, companionship, attentive care and the feeling of not being alone become increasingly important.
For this reason, the former Hotel Zlatnik was adapted to its new purpose and became the licensed Dom Zlatnik residential care home for adults and older people.
The aim is for new residents to retain the warmth of home while also benefiting from the comfort, organisation and level of service for which Zlatnik has been known for many years.
“Our guests always told us that they felt at home here. That was reflected in the reviews they left us, and it was exactly why they kept coming back. After all, there is no place like home.”
Branka Vuletić
“We decided to invest once again, adapt the building to its new purpose and meet all the requirements for obtaining a licence to operate a residential care home for adults and older people.”

Hotel Comfort Adapted for New Residents
The hotel complex, covering approximately 3,000 square metres, has been adapted to meet the needs of its new residents.
The home has 50 single, double and triple rooms, furnished in an elegant style and adapted for residents’ everyday needs.
Eight rooms with spacious bathrooms have been additionally adapted for wheelchair users and residents who require a higher level of support.
To make the adjustment to a new environment as comfortable as possible, a close family member may also stay with the resident during the first days after arrival.
For relatives travelling from abroad, an apartment is also available where they may stay for ten to fifteen days.
The adjustment can take place gradually, with the presence of family and the support of the home’s staff.
Facilities for Wellbeing, Relaxation and Socialising
Zlatnik has retained much of the comfort of the former hotel, while adapting its spaces to the needs of residents.
Residents also have access to a large shared terrace for relaxation and socialising.
The range of facilities allows residents to organise their time according to their own interests — whether they prefer socialising, creative activities, reading, films, exercise or simply peace and rest.
Fresh Meals Prepared In-House
Particular attention is given to nutrition.
Meals are prepared every day in the home’s own kitchen using fresh ingredients. Food is kneaded, cooked and prepared on site, without relying on ready-made meals or delivery.
Residents who wish to do so can join the cooks in preparing selected dishes, favourite cakes or traditional preserves.
“For them, it is not simply about preparing food. It is also enjoyment, socialising and a form of occupational therapy.”
Radmila Getman · Home Manager
Such activities can be particularly valuable because they evoke familiar routines from home and allow residents to continue doing things they have enjoyed throughout their lives.
Professional Support Throughout the Day
Residents are supported by a team of social workers, therapists and medical staff.
Dom Zlatnik provides 24-hour medical care, as well as daily occupational and activity therapy, with a specialist doctor also visiting once a week.
The level of support is tailored to the needs of each resident.
Some residents need assistance with everyday activities, others require health monitoring, while some need support during recovery after hospital treatment or while preparing for further rehabilitation.
The professional team at the home works to maintain each resident’s existing level of independence and, where possible, to help improve it.
At the same time, great attention is given to social life and everyday activities, because quality of life in later years depends on more than healthcare alone.
From Hotel to a Home for Later Life
Zlatnik’s change of purpose does not mean a complete break with its hotel tradition.
On the contrary, the idea was to carry the best elements of decades of hotel experience — hospitality, comfort, attention to detail and quality of service — into an entirely new kind of environment.
In this way, the former hotel was given a new role.
Today, Zlatnik aims to be a place where older people can receive the support they need while continuing to maintain their own rhythm, habits, relationships with family and the greatest possible degree of independence.
A place where they have support when they need it, company when they want it and privacy when they need that too.
Because a dignified later life is about more than care and security.
It also means having the opportunity to continue living well, staying active and spending each day in surroundings where you feel comfortable.
